After a long flight you may decide to sleep in, then head out into the bustling little town of Moshi to explore.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Amani Centre for Street Children, a charity we have close connections with. We have attached a ‘current needs’ list for the centre, should you wish to make a contribution (this is optional). Lots of resources can be bought in Moshi at reasonable prices, but you might choose to bring items with you.

DAY 5: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Today you will be picked up from your hotel at 07:00 am and transferred to the Tarangire National Park to start your game-viewing experience in this magnificent park, which is famous for its large collection of baobab trees, spectacular large mammal population and variety of bird species, not to mention one of the largest concentrations of elephants in the country.
After a tour of the park, you will be transferred to the Lake Burunge Baobab Tented Lodge, located on the shores of Lake Burungi.

What’s the Food Like in Tanzania?
Food in Tanzania is simple, fresh and filling, with meals designed to fuel long safari days. You’ll enjoy a mix of local East African dishes and familiar international food, particularly at safari lodges and camps.
Expect grilled meats, rice, vegetables, chapati and mild stews, alongside local staples like ugali (a maize-based dish). Safari meals are usually taken at lodges and include hearty breakfasts, packed or lodge lunches during game drives, and evening dinners with a main course and dessert. Vegetarian and special dietary requirements can usually be catered for with advance notice, and food standards at lodges are generally high.
What Makes Our Trip Different?
How Difficult Is It?
How Difficult Is the Best Tanzanian Safari?
The Tanzanian Safari is a Challenge Rating 1 trip and is best described as a relaxing adventure holiday with very light physical demands. This journey is designed for comfort and enjoyment, focusing on wildlife viewing, scenic landscapes and cultural experiences rather than physical challenge.
Most days are spent on game drives in safari vehicles, with only short walks around lodges, camps and viewpoints. Any walking is optional, slow-paced and on generally flat terrain. There is no trekking, hiking or specialist fitness required, making this trip suitable for a wide range of travellers, including those looking for a more laid-back adventure.
Overall, this safari is ideal if you want to experience Tanzania’s incredible wildlife and landscapes at a relaxed pace, without the need for prior fitness training or outdoor experience.

Reviews
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a visa to enter Tanzania?
Because entry requirements can and do change, and because we have clients of many nationalities, we always recommend checking this with your own government’s website. Be sure to allow enough time to apply for any visas or permits required; don’t leave your checks until the day before!
What vaccinations do I need?
These change, so it is important that you check with either a travel health clinic or your doctor’s surgery. You should allow plenty of time for this process, as some vaccines need multiple doses. The TravelHealthPro website is another useful source of information – https://travelhealthpro.org.uk/countries
How can I avoid roaming charges but still use my phone?
Your mobile provider might have reasonably-priced roaming add-ons, so it is worth exploring these. Or you could buy an eSim; these are often much cheaper than add-ons and are easy to activate and use. See our article for more information – https://thebucketlistcompany.co.uk/unlock-seamless-connectivity-with-esims-the-ultimate-travel-companion/
What animals might I see on this trip?
Whilst animal sightings are never guaranteed, the Ngorongoro Crater is home to the ‘Big Five’. Across the trip, look out for giraffes, zebra, baboons, warthogs, multiple bird species (including flamingos), and the famous tree-climbing lions at Lake Manyara.
Are there any clothing restrictions?
Although you might instinctively think camouflage print would be great for a safari, it is a no-no – reserved for military personnel only in Tanzania. Bright colours can also disturb wildlife. Stick with neutral colours.
How do the monthly payments work?
If you choose to pay for your trip monthly your payment plan will start the month after your booking is made, and will end a minimum of 28 days prior to departure. After deposit, the outstanding balance will be divided by the number of months available and we’ll charge this amount each month to the card of your choice. If you have a preferred date of the month for payments to be taken just let us know. If at a later date you wish to add an extra experience to your trip we can modifiy your payment plan to accommodate this.
Can you cater for different diets?
When you book you will receive a link to your portal, where you can fill in your passenger information, including dietary and medical requirements. These will be shared with our guides and providers (including airlines if you have also booked flights). Please provide this information as quickly as possible, so we can make any necessary arrangements for you.
Whilst we do our utmost to ensure your needs are met, in some locations options for very specific diets may be extremely limited; we therefore suggest bringing some suitable snacks.
If you have a severe food allergy please ensure you carry your medication at all times, and that we are made aware. We will pass this information on, but a conversation with your in-country guide on arrival will help them give you the best possible guidance regarding suitability or otherwise of foods.
If you have specific concerns we always suggest contacting us to discuss before booking.
