On this trip, we have included some of the best Safaris that Tanzania has to offer, including a trip to the Serengeti during the annual migration. 

This trip will visit the Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti. 

Although, we can never guarantee seeing the Big 5, with this amount of choice it is going to be as close as you are ever going to get! 

If you are travelling all the way to Tanzania, you would be a fool not to add on some extra time and head to Zanzibar to check out the white sandy beaches and relax after your ultimate safari adventure!

The Best Tanzanian Safari Itinerary

  • Day 1: DEPART UK

    DEPART UK You will meet your Bucket List Leaders at the airport and fly out as a group for Bucket Lister + Trips. If you have booked a Bucket Lister Trip we will see you in Tanzania soon! If you have transfers with us we will take you to the hotel. For those making their own way, we will see you in Moshi. Welcome Briefing: Your welcome briefing will be at 6 pm at the hotel

  • Day 2: ARRIVE IN MOSHI

    ARRIVE IN MOSHI You will be picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transferred to the Weru Weru River Lodge in Moshi. 

  • Day 3: EXPLORE MOSHI TOWN

    EXPLORE MOSHI TOWN Today will be a day at leisure to explore Moshi. After a long flight, you may decide to sleep in and head out into the bustling little town of Moshi in the afternoon.  

  • Day 4: MATERUNI WATERFALL & COFFEE TOUR

    MATERUNI WATERFALL & COFFEE TOUR Today’s tour will take us to Materuni Waterfall, a beautiful place where you'll get a true glimpse of the nature of Tanzania. The tour will continue with a visit to a local village lying in the coffee plantations. The villagers will demonstrate the process of coffee farming and guide you through the preparation of coffee from bean to cup.

  • Day 5: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

    TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK You will start your safari by visiting Tarangire National Park. After a tour of the park, you will be transferred to the luxurious Maramboi Tented Lodge, located on the shores of Lake Manyara.

  • Day 6: LAKE MANYARA

    LAKE MANYARA Today we will have an early game drive to Lake Manyara. Once we have completed the game drive we will make our way to Ngorongoro Crater.

  • Day 7: BIG 5 SAFARI IN NGORONGORO CRATER

    BIG 5 SAFARI IN NGORONGORO CRATER You will spend the whole day exploring the Ngorongoro Crater. You will then spend the night at the beautiful Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge which is located on the crater rim. 

  • Day 8: NGORONGORO TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

    NGORONGORO TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK After an early breakfast, you will start your safari in Serengeti National Park. The great Serengeti is well known for the famous annual great migration, where an estimated 2 million herbivores migrate to Kenya’s Maasai Mara Game Reserve.  Spend your whole day exploring its world-renowned endless plains in search of one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in the world. After your game drive you will be taken to your Lodge where you will be spending the night.

  • DAY 9 - 11: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

    SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK You will spend the next 3 days on the endless plains of the Serengeti National Park. While in the Serengeti, you will be staying at the award-winning Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge.   

  • Day 12: FLY HOME

    FLY HOME This marks the end of our Tanzanian adventure. If you haven't had enough, you can continue with a trip to Zanzibar!

  • What wildlife will I see?

    Zebras, giraffes, elephants, wildebeest, buffaloes, hippos, antelopes and gazelles are common animals. Larger predatory animals like lions, cheetahs and leopards are also found.

  • Do I need a visa to enter Tanzania?

    Yes, you can apply online for your visa but we recommend getting it on your arrival in Tanzania.

  • Do I need any vaccinations to enter Tanzania?

    We aren’t certified to give medical advice so always recommend you consult your doctor or a travel doctor, as they will know which vaccinations you have had already and any additional ones necessary for your trip. You can also take a look here for travel vaccination information and advice on bringing medication into the country.

  • What is the accommodation used on this trip?

    You will be staying in lodges and tented camps on a twin-share basis unless you opt for single occupancy on the trip builder! 

  • What money should I bring?

    The local currency in Tanzania is the shilling. Major credit cards are accepted at hotels and most lodges and camps “in the bush”. There are a number of ATM machines in major citities. US dollars, Euros and travelers checks are readily accepted, but small denominations are recommended for cashing at lodges and camps. Changing money at banks can be very time consuming, but there are other authorized dealers or Bureau de Change.
