About 'The Best of Thailand'

Trekking, diving and ethical elephant-ing in ‘The Land of Smiles’ Thailand

If you want to tick several tantalising adventures off your Bucket List in one go, you’ll certainly do it on your tour of Thailand with the Bucket List Company.

You’ll get to know some incredibly majestic elephants responsibly and ethically, you’ll explore Bangkok’s kaleidoscope of colours, sights and smells, AND you’ll trek through dense rainforest and bunk in with the friendliest of Thai tribespeople.

But before you hit “go” though, there’s more.

On this trip you’ll visit an absolute eyesore of an island where you can dive in the most fantastically fishy, crystal-clear waters (or discover the art of “beach life” if you’d prefer).

You’ll visit jungles, mountains and stunning lakes and you’ll experience true Thai island life in seriously tropical surroundings.

White sands and blue seas your thing? Fan of fun and genuine adventure? Like the idea of an elephant snuffling its trunk in your face? Of course you do.

Take a look at the itinerary below.

Trip Information

Read more about your ethical encounter with elephants in Thailand

We’ve all seen plenty of pictures of hapless tourists riding elephants and waving for the camera. We’ve seen videos of elephants painting masterpieces and playing football too.

Thankfully, these days, most people know it’s not on.

Even better, genuine sanctuaries exist where you can lend a hand caring for these beautiful creatures and extending their welfare, without causing them any stress or endangering them in any way.

On your Bucket List Company tour of Thailand, you’ll visit a wonderful, supported elephant camp close to Chiang Mai, a short flight north of Bangkok, where elephants that were once sadly born into captivity now reside in the most natural environment humans can provide.

We’re all about ethical tourism here at The Bucket List Company, which means your time at the camp will be spent preparing food rather than saddling up and mucking out rather than applauding tricks.

These awe-inspiring animals will simply blow you away and give you an experience you’ll never, ever forget (just like them!).

Reviews about the The Best of Thailand trip

Reviews

Here’s what some of our awesome customers had to say:

I am so glad that we chose to climb Kilimanjaro with the Bucket List Company!

Before our trip the team were quick to respond to any queries (including very last minute kit queries!) and provide assurance.

Our trekking group was fairly large (20). This provided a great social experience but did not impact the superb level of individual support/service provided to each member.

Everything was extremely well organised from start to finish – which is very much appreciated on this sort of trip. I am thankful for this experience and will definitely book future adventures with the Bucket List Company!

Eleanor Williams Mount Kilimanjaro climb The Bucket List Company Reviews

“I just nicely got back from Peru with The Bucket List Company. It was an absolutely incredible trip – I booked it and went on my own, met some lovely people and had the experience of a lifetime.

I also had the opportunity to go on trips outside of the main trek, which just added to the whole experience. I would highly recommend The Bucket List Company to anyone, and can’t wait to book my next trip!”

Laura Trimble Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu The Bucket List Company Reviews

“Went to Morocco with The Bucket List Company. Not only was it an amazing trip it was lead by an amazing company. Everything was sorted for us from the flights to accommodation. Having a UK leader with us the whole time made the trip effortless.

Having someone with experience of the country and the trip certainly made it effortless. I would not hesitate recommending or using this company again myself.”

Andy Simpson Morocco The Bucket List Company Reviews

“A very easy company to work with – super open, knowledgeable and deep expertise.

Having just come off the Sahara trek, I was impressed with the logistics and just how much fun this was as a single traveler.

If you want to do something cool, irrespective of your own experience, then this is the team to do it with – highly adaptive to individuals with a very pragmatic approach.”

Andy Haverson Sahara trek The Bucket List Company Reviews

“Had a fantastic time on the Sahara trek. It was well organised and the guides were always there for advice and information. Both me and my husband have booked for Mt. Toubkal next year with fellow team members from the Sahara trek.”

Pamela Sahara trek The Bucket List Company Reviews

“One of the best trips I’ve ever been on. Amazing location, excellent diving company, and the best bunch of people. I would highly recommend the Bucket List Company and their Gozo scuba diving trip.”
