Itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVE IN SPAIN
On arrival in Spain you’ll make your way to the villa. If you have booked transfers through us, one of the team will collect you from the airport.
Today is a free day, so if you arrive early you will have the day to explore the local area. If you arrive later in the evening you won’t have missed anything.
DAY 2: ROCK CLIMBING
Today we will head to one of the many crags of the Costa Blanca to try your hand at climbing. If you are new to climbing we will teach you all of the basics and get you on the rock, but if you have climbed before we can either introduce you to lead climbing, or give you a belay so you can climb to your heart’s content!
DAY 3: CANYONING
For today’s activity we’ll be canyoning. We’ll travel in canyons and gorges using a variety of techniques including hiking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, rappelling, and swimming. In this region we find canyons of all difficulties and lengths, most canyons in the Community of Valencia are dry but there are some wet ones (which are slightly harder). So, no matter your age and skill level, you’ll still have some fun!
DAY 4: THE DOWNHILL BIKE RIDE
Explore Spain’s rugged Costa Blanca Mountains on “The Downhill Bike Ride” while gliding downhill for at least 30 kilometers on a bicycle. At the beginning you hop into a minivan and take a journey to the highest mountains of the Costa Blanca – the Aitana Mountain Range.
On arrival, pull on your helmet and hit the road! Spin down mountain roads to the villages of Penaguila and Alcoleja. Admire sweeping views inland and over the coast to the Spanish shoreline.
In the afternoon, wild animals will be waiting for you while you roll into Sella or beyond. After, enjoy a refreshing drink in a local bar before you hop back into the minivan for the journey back to your accommodation.
DAY 5: VIA FERRATA
Grab your helmets – today is your chance to try your hand on a Via Ferrata. A Via Ferrata is a climbing route in the mountains that involves steel cables, rungs, or ladders fixed to the rock. Using a harness you’ll then be able to climb the mountain. Depending on the ability of the group we will decide which route to take, to make sure everyone can achieve this amazing activity!
DAY 6: FINAL DAY
Today is the final day; depending on your departure time you may have time for a quick ascent of Puig Campana which you will have been staring at all week from the Villa. At 1406m high, this lump of rock is taller than Ben Nevis and in just a few hours you can be standing on the top!
If you have booked your transfers with us, we will drop you off at Alicante airport ready for your departure.

What’s the Food Like in Spain?
Spanish food is all about fresh ingredients, bold flavours and sharing great meals after active days. You can expect a mix of traditional regional dishes and relaxed Mediterranean dining, with plenty of variety to suit different tastes.
Meals often include classics like paella, tapas, grilled meats and seafood, fresh salads, and locally baked bread, alongside olive oil-rich dishes and seasonal vegetables. Expect plenty of jamón, cheeses, and hearty post-adventure meals designed to refuel you after a day outdoors.
Dining is social and unhurried, with evenings often spent sharing plates, enjoying local wines or a cold beer, and soaking up the atmosphere in small towns and coastal villages. Vegetarian options are widely available, and special dietary requirements can usually be catered for with advance notice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have any experience of the activities included?
No, all activities will be taught from a beginner level. If you are already a climber you’ll have the option to climb with one of the guides. If you have already done some ‘via Ferrata’ we will split the group and look at two differing challenges.
Do I need to bring my own equipment for the activities
All equipment, including safety equipment, is provided. However if you do have your own e.g. bike helmet, and you’d prefer to use that, feel free to bring it along.
Are there places locally to get meals?
In the evenings you can either cook in the villa, or try one of the restaurants in Finestrat (a 10 minute walk from the villa). Alternatively you could head into Benidorm, where there is a range of dining options to suit all tastes.
Why don't you offer flights as an option for this trip?
Lots of UK airports offer flights to Alicante. We therefore believe it is easier for everyone to arrange their own flights from their preferred airport, rather than us book group flights from a London airport.
Do I need a visa to enter Spain?
Because entry requirements can and do change, and because we have clients of many nationalities, we always recommend checking this with your own government’s website. Be sure to allow enough time to apply for any visas or permits required; don’t leave your checks until the day before!
I'm not the most confident cyclist; will the bike ride be too much for me?
There will be two guides with the group; one at the front and one at the back so no-one is left behind. The ride itself is split into three sections, and we’re followed by our transport so you can decide to stop at any point if you’ve had enough. The first two sections are on very quiet roads, and even on the third there isn’t a huge amount of traffic.
One of our team feels the same about cycling; they took their time at the back, soaked up the views and enjoyed the experience.
How do I get from Alicante airport to the villa?
There are several options. You can arrange transfers through us (you will see this as an option when booking your trip); we’ll pick you up from the airport and bring you to the villa. You can get a taxi from the airport direct to the accommodation. Alternatively you can get a bus from the airport to Benidorm, then take a taxi from there to the villa.
Since Brexit my mobile network provider has reintroduced roaming charges in Europe. How can I avoid these but still use my phone?
Your mobile provider might have reasonably-priced roaming add-ons, so it is worth exploring these. Or you could buy an eSim; these are often much cheaper than add-ons and are easy to activate and use. See our article for more information – https://thebucketlistcompany.co.uk/unlock-seamless-connectivity-with-esims-the-ultimate-travel-companion/
Can you cater for different diets?
When you book you will receive a link to your portal, where you can fill in your passenger information, including dietary and medical requirements. These will be shared with our guides and providers (including airlines if you have also booked flights). Please provide this information as quickly as possible, so we can make any necessary arrangements for you.
Whilst we do our utmost to ensure your needs are met, in some locations, options for very specific diets may be extremely limited; we therefore suggest bringing some suitable snacks.
If you have a severe food allergy please ensure you carry your medication at all times, and that we are made aware. We will pass this information on, but a conversation with your in-country guide on arrival will help them give you the best possible guidance regarding suitability or otherwise of foods. If you have specific concerns we always suggest contacting us to discuss before booking.
