When you’re booking the adventure of a lifetime, you’ll want to know what’s in store for you! That’s why we’ve put all of the most frequently asked questions about our Bucket List trips in one handy place for you to check out.

So whether you have trekking questions, want to know about Everest Base Camp altitude preparations or are simply looking for some travel advice, you can find it here!

When will my monthly instalments be collected?

Your monthly instalments will be collected from the card used to make your original purchase on a 30 day rolling payment plan. You can choose how many months you wish to spread the cost over at the point of purchase. If at any time you need to change the card details your plan is linked to, or wish to make additional payments, then give our office a call – 01769 309007.

Flights and Protection

Air Travel arrangements are supplied by Wexas International ATOL 2873 and their booking conditions apply.

Financial Protection

To provide protection for all money our customers send us, we operate a ‘client trust account’, this money is ring fenced and in the unlikely event of the company failure this money is protected. The Bucket List Company does not have access to this money until after we have returned from your trip.

How many places are on each trip?

We aim to take a maximum 16 people maximum on each trip, however if we have a lot of interest in a certain adventure we may take 2 groups on the same adventure or put on an extra trip at another date in the year.

Most of our trips have between 8-12 on each trip.

Can I bring my children on the adventure with me?

We don’t recommend our mountaineering and trekking trips for most families but in response to the growing interest in adventure travel for families of all ages we are launching new Family Trailblazer trips. These trips will be released in 2021 so to get ahead of the crowds register your interest HERE.

Are my flights included in the online price?

Your flights are not included in the ‘Trip Base Costs’. We offer both a land only package and fully inclusive packages, as well as many additional excursions. Once you have selected your trip dates you will be able to add flights, single supplements or any other excursions you wish to include in the ‘Trip Builder’.

What is not covered in the total cost of the adventure?

The only things that are not covered within the price is:

  • Personal Spending Money
  • Insurance
  • Visa
  • Tips
  • If you have chosen the land only package then flights are also not included
What are your Terms & Conditions & Cancellation policy?
Can you recommend somewhere to get my travel insurance from?

We use specialist Insurance Brokers, Campbell Irvine Direct for all of our insurance policies no matter what trip we are on. We know their policy includes everything we require in an insurance policy for all of our trips. You can easily get a quote from their website so try not to leave sorting your insurance out until last minute!

You don’t have to use Campbell Irvine if you have another in mind, just please be aware to check restrictions. For example many insurance policies that you get with your bank account will not include altitude and are not geared up for exciting trips like we offer!

What is your complaints procedure?

If you would like to make a complaint, please email [email protected] in the first instance. You will receive a response from us within 48 hours. If your complaint is not answered to your satisfaction please email again and put it for the attention of the Managing Director.

What are the training weekends and how do I book on them?

We run training weekends prior to your adventure that you have the option to book onto. The weekend costs £200 per person and includes:

  • Bunkhouse accommodation for 2 nights
  • Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning
  • Activities and instruction on both Saturday and Sunday – full days
  • The opportunity to meet other people on your trip and also other trips
  • Advice on every aspect of your adventure
  • The opportunity to bring any kit you may have and get it checked out by our instructors

The dates for upcoming training weekends can be found HERE.

Please note, we will be running more training weekends, in various locations, so if the dates currently shown are not right for you, please don’t hesitate to give us a call and enquire about future training weekends.

Can you cater to my dietary requirement?

One of the first pieces of information we will ask you to provide us when you fill in your booking form is a dietary requirements disclosure. We will do our utmost to ensure that any dietary requirement is catered to during your trip, contacting airlines, agents and accommodation to request they adjust their menus for your needs.

It is important to let us know of your dietary requirements as soon as possible after booking, so that we have adequate time to make these arrangements.

This said, we would encourage Bucketlisters to bear in mind that we cannot fully control the provisions that will be available on flights and during your trek. Occasionally, despite communicating particular needs to our flight agents, on-board teams will forget to ensure certain meals are available. Also be aware that in some countries, less common diets are almost unheard of – such as gluten-free in Morocco. Usually, there will be something you can find, but it may be limited. Therefore, if you have particularly specific dietary needs (such as vegan and gluten-free) we recommend you bring snacks as a back-up.

Any client with a severe allergy must carry their necessary medicine with them at all times.

What is the Ultimate Flex Policy?

The Ultimate Flex Policy is a new initiative we have developed in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. This ensure people can still plan for the future, book dates for travel with the reassurance that if they wish to change their booking we have made it as easy and as affordable as possible.

If you are a ‘Land Only’ customer, organising your own flights, you will be able to move the dates or destination of your trip up to 90 days before your planned departure date absolutely free of charge.

For those of you who have flights included in your package, you can also amend  your booking up to 90 days before your planned departure with minimal costs of amending airline tickets. We will look at each booking individually. Usually between 180 and 90 days before your planned departure we are able to move your flight for a minimal fee, equivalent to a change of name or date administration charge on any airline ticket. This will be dealt with on a trip by trip basis to make amendments as easy as possible and within the Terms and Conditions of the many airlines we deal with.

If you wish to make any changes less than 90 days before your trip departure or to cancel in full, our usual Terms and Conditions will apply.

What our Customers Say

Here’s what some of our awesome customers had to say:

“I still can’t quite find the right word to describe my experience with The Bucket List Company. Had the most incredible time, met some amazing people, and experienced things I never thought I would. I’d recommend both Peru, Machu Picchu and The Bucket List Company to anyone – you honestly will not be disappointed. Thank you so much for a life changing 10 days.”

Lares Trek to Machu Picchu The Bucket List Company Reviews

“Having recently returned from visiting Machu Picchu with The Bucket List Company, I cannot recommend them highly enough! What a life-changing experience! The trip was exceptionally organised and Keith is the best expedition leader out there.

Even when I was struggling with the altitude, my health was closely monitored by the group and I was really well looked after. This will definitely not be my last Bucket List trip. Thank you so much Keith!”

Inca Trail trek to Machu PIcchu The Bucket List Company Reviews

I have just returned from the most epic trip to Kilimanjaro organised by The bucket list company. They are there to answer any questions before you travel and a representative is with you and your group every step of the way.

We enjoyed the hustle of the local markets, the 6 day trek to the summit, and finally a visit to a local school. We had an amazing group of trekkers, we laughed, cried and sang together and got each other through. If your thinking of booking a life changing adventure with like minded people then your with the right company 😊.

“When you book a Bucket List experience you want the company you book with to understand that for you this is once in a lifetime event and make it that little bit different. Having travelled with three other ‘group travel’ companies I can say that TBLC understand more than most that the little things matter. The pre travel part is stand out; from a welcome gift on booking, monthly installment options or the excellent training weekends you get an early impression you will be looked after and when on trip you certainly are. I recently returned from EBC and the organisation an execution of the trip was excellent, once travelling you don’t have to think about a thing

And the care and attention from both UK and local guides cannot be faulted. A couple of days I found the going very hard but I always had someone by my side for reassurance and encouragement which I have to say probably got me to Base Camp. I would have no hesitation
in recommending TBLC to others, they’re a first class company who helped me tick a biggie off that bucket list!”

Everest Base Camp The Bucket List Company Reviews

Absolutely amazing from day one to the day we finished hiking up to Everest base camp. The bucket list is certainly up there in the top 10 Organisations and they are brilliant at what they do. I have had so many amazing memories of climbing to Everest base camp as well as climbing Kilimanjaro. I would highly recommend as without their input, I would never have had these amazing memories and experiences I’ve had.

“I can’t fault this trip, from the ease of booking and paying in installments through to the seamless travel transfers and information throughout the week – thanks Keith!

All the team at Ritual Dive were professional and great fun throughout the PADI course, and the fun dives exploring a cave and wreck were hassle free on board and amazing down below! Our group were mixed in age and experience, however, all like-minded and adventurous with firm friendships formed and future plans made… including already booking Gozo 2020! Hi

ghly recommend this trip and I’ll be checking out more trips to tick off my bucket list too! Thanks team!”
