So whether you have trekking questions, want to know about Everest Base Camp altitude preparations or are simply looking for some travel advice, you can find it here!

When will my direct debit be taken out of my account?

Your direct debit will be taken out of your account on the 1st of every month, unless you have specified and we have agreed with you a different date. Your direct debit needs to be set up 6 days before the end of the month to make sure it comes out on the 1st, if not then it will roll over onto the following month. The direct debit is cost of the adventure split equally between the number of months left before you depart.

Flights and Protection

Air Travel Arrangements are supplied by Wexas International ATOL 2873 and their booking conditions apply.

Financial Protection

To provide protection for all money our customers send us, we operate a ‘client trust account’, this money is ring fenced and in the unlikely event of the company failure this money is protected. The Bucket List Company does not have access to this money until after we have returned from your trip.

How many places are on each trip?

We aim to take 16 people maximum on each trip, however if we have a lot of interest in a certain adventure we may take 2 groups on the same adventure or put on an extra trip at another date in the year.

Can I bring my children on the adventure with me?

We don’t recommend altitude trekking for minors. The majority of our treks either involve water or altitude, so for safety reasons we wouldn’t say this is a good idea. Everyone needs to carry their own kit and equipment, therefore it is not practical to have to be supporting someone else as well as yourself on an expedition. We are happy to discuss individual cases in further detail – just give us a call!

Why are there two prices and what is the difference between the land only price and full package price?

We offer both a land only package and a full package. The land only package doesn’t include flights, this is suitable for people who want to meet us in country and/or stay longer after the adventure. The full package is flight inclusive and we meet you at the airport and stay with you until you return back to the UK.

What is not covered in the total cost of the adventure?

The only things that are not covered within the price is:

  • Personal Spending Money
  • Insurance
  • Visa
  • Tips
  • If you have chosen the land only package then flights are also not included
What are your Terms & Conditions & Cancellation policy?
Can you recommend somewhere to get my travel insurance from?

We use specialist Insurance Brokers, Campbell Irvine Direct for all of our insurance policies no matter what trip we are on. We know their policy includes everything we require in an insurance policy for all of our trips. You can easily get a quote from their website so try not to leave sorting your insurance out until last minute!

You don’t have to use Campbell Irvine if you have another in mind, just please be aware to check restrictions. For example many insurance policies that you get with your bank account will not include altitude and are not geared up for exciting trips like we offer!

What is your complaints procedure?

If you would like to make a complaint, please email [email protected] in the first instance. You will receive a response from us within 48 hours. If your complaint is not answered to your satisfaction please email again and put it for the attention of the Managing Director.

What are the training weekends and How do I book on them?

We run training weekends prior to your adventure that you have the option to book onto. The weekend costs £150 per person and includes:

  • Bunkhouse accommodation for 2 nights
  • Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning
  • Activities and Instruction on both Saturday and Sunday – full days
  • The opportunity to meet other people on your trip and also other trips
  • Advice on every aspect of your adventure
  • The opportunity to bring any kit you may have and get it checked out by our instructors

The dates for upcoming training weekends are as follows:

Friday 22nd – Sunday 24th February 2019 – Brecon Beacons

Friday 5th – Sunday 7th April 2019 – Peak District

Please note, we will be running more training weekends, in various locations, so if the dates currently shown are not right for you, please don’t hesitate to give us a call and enquire about future training weekends.

To book your spot on one of our training weekends, give the office a call on 01769 309007, and we will reserve a place for you.

Can you cater to my dietary requirement?

One of the first pieces of information we will ask you to provide us when you fill in your booking form is a dietary requirements disclosure. We will do our utmost to ensure that any dietary requirement is catered to during your trip, contacting airlines, agents and accommodation to request they adjust their menus for your needs.

It is important to let us know of your dietary requirements as soon as possible after booking, so that we have adequate time to make these arrangements.

This said, we would encourage Bucketlisters to bear in mind that we cannot fully control the provisions that will be available on flights and during your trek. Occasionally, despite communicating particular needs to our flight agents, on-board teams will forget to ensure certain meals are available. Also be aware that in some countries, less common diets are almost unheard of – such as gluten-free in Morocco. Usually, there will be something you can find, but it may be limited. Therefore, if you have particularly specific dietary needs (such as vegan and gluten-free) we recommend you bring snacks as a back-up.

Any client with a severe allergy must carry their necessary medicine with them at all times.

What our Customers Say

Here’s what some of our awesome customers had to say:

“When you go on the adventures of a life time, you want to travel with a company that cares. I went on the Sahara desert trek in Morocco. 104 Km over 4 days is an endurance test, but we were taken well care of with food and brakes plus we had a designated emergency camel for anyone with knee or foot problems to take the load of for 20 min.

The views were as amazing as what you would imagine and the stars at night the grandest show on earth. If you dream of sitting on a sand dune watching the sun set over the Sahara after a good days trek, this is the trip for you.”

“Both my wife and I booked last September to climb Kilimanjaro. The experience was unforgettable with so many good friends made for life. We enjoyed the experience so much we have committed to another two trips with the same company in September 2019 to Mount Toubkal in North Africa and the Salkantay trip to Machu Picchu in 2020.

The trip up Kilimanjaro was absolutely fantastic, the trip was well organised and the porters were superb. I would recommend this company to anyone who would like to achieve their goals and aspirations and to tick a superb challenge off their Bucket List.”

“My first Bucket List Company experience has just ended after scuba diving in Gozo. The whole process has been great and we’ve been so well looked after by Keith and his team, I can’t recommend them highly enough. I will be booking with them again!”

“When you book a Bucket List experience you want the company you book with to understand that for you this is once in a lifetime event and make it that little bit different. Having travelled with three other ‘group travel’ companies I can say that TBLC understand more than most that the little things matter. The pre travel part is stand out; from a welcome gift on booking, monthly installment options or the excellent training weekends you get an early impression you will be looked after and when on trip you certainly are. I recently returned from EBC and the organisation an execution of the trip was excellent, once travelling you don’t have to think about a thing

And the care and attention from both UK and local guides cannot be faulted. A couple of days I found the going very hard but I always had someone by my side for reassurance and encouragement which I have to say probably got me to Base Camp. I would have no hesitation
in recommending TBLC to others, they’re a first class company who helped me tick a biggie off that bucket list!”

“I’ve just arrived back after a trip with The Bucket List Company to Peru to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Everything went very smoothly and we were well looked after. The hotel accomodation and travel were both good.

The trek itself was really well organised, and the quality of the food provided by Chef Freddie was first class. The extra tours on the trip were well worth it. We always felt part of the group and the experience was worth every penny. Thanks Keith!”
