Our evening outing, the 'Happy Hour Boteco Crawl' (from 18:00-22:00), visits some of Rio's most popular 'botecos' - typical Brazilian pubs. Far from the typical "tourist traps", partakers enjoy an evening full of traditional delicacies and innovative appetisers, served with locally brewed craft beers and delicious caipirinhas. Several complementary tongue teasers and beverages are offered along the way.

TRANSFER TO PARATY Today we transfer to Paraty.

  • DAY 4: HALF DAY SCHOONER TOUR (WITH LUNCH)

HALF DAY SCHOONER TOUR (WITH LUNCH) Leaving the port of Paraty in the morning, the schooner sails to an archipelago of densely forested islands, crystalline seas, and secluded white, sandy beaches. On arrival in this paradise, you'll make three one-hour stops so you can sunbathe, swim, and snorkel in the emerald bays. Each trip is unique as the destinations vary depending on wind direction and sea conditions, but destinations usually include the islands of Comprida, Algodão, Cotia, and Praia Vermelha. Duration: 5 hours

  • DAY 5: ILHA GRANDE

ILHA GRANDE You'll meet your local driver in Paraty, before the transfer (approximately 2 hours, in an air-conditioned vehicle) to Angra dos Reis. This is followed by a 30-minute boat trip to the beautiful tropical island of Ilha Grande.

  • DAY 6: FULL DAY LOPES MENDES

FULL DAY LOPES MENDES We visit one of Brazil's top ten beaches today; Lopes Mendes, an idyllic three-kilometre stretch of powdery white sand. It's an amazing place, offering something for everyone: surfers revel in its awesome breakers, while families enjoy swimming in its crystal-clear water and picnicking in the shade of the lush vegetation. The excursion includes a boat ride to Pouso Beach (a 30-minute walk from Lopes Mendes Beach) and back.
