Itinerary
DAY 1: EXPLORE MARRAKECH
You will depart the UK for the trip of a lifetime! If you have booked flights with us (option available for Bucket Lister + trips only), we’ll provide all the information you’ll need to meet your guide. If you are arranging your own flights, have a safe journey!
On arrival in Marrakech you’ll make your way to the accommodation. If you have booked transfers through us, we’ll send you the details before your trip.
Note: There will be an evening welcome meeting.
DAY 2: DRIVE TO THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS, VISIT CASCADES D'OUZOUD
After breakfast, we pack up and take a scenic drive to the High Atlas Mountains. On the way, we’ll stop at Morocco’s most famous waterfalls, the Cascades d’Ouzoud, with monkeys jumping on our table whilst we have lunch.
After 6 hours, we finally reach our guesthouse with a welcoming tea before a tasty tagine.
DAY 3: RAFT THROUGH GORGES AND SLEEP UNDER THE STARS
Today is rafting day! We start by the Cathedral Rock. After safety instructions, we practice and float down class 3 rapids all day. The route is dotted with rapids crossing an Aleppo pine forest landscape. In a magnificent setting of beautiful river gorges, the Ahansal River allows you an easy, enjoyable rafting trip.
To help you get the most out of your trip, guides are available to give instructions and guidance on navigation. After the biggest rapid (class 4), we reach our river campsite, where our local team will welcome us with fresh mint tea.
While we are sitting by the fire, enjoying the magical surroundings, our cooks are preparing a nice meal for the evening. We will sleep under stars as you’ve never seen before.
DAY 4: RAFT THROUGH MOROCCO'S GRAND CANYON
Nothing’s better than waking up with fresh air and morning sunlight by the river.
Today we’ll paddle a couple of exciting rapids (class 3/4), and float for 3 hours through Morocco’s “Grand Canyon”, carving this magnificent red gorge with its magical blue and green water (class 2).
We will have lunch on a fishing boat while crossing the spectacular Lake Bin El Ouidane. After packing up, we drive back to Marrakech.
DAY 5: EXPLORING MARRAKECH
This is our well-earned free day to explore all that Marrakech has to offer. Maybe go and enjoy some relaxation in the spa or local hammam.
DAY 6: RETURN FLIGHT TO UK

What’s the Food Like in Morocco?
Moroccan cuisine is a vibrant blend of Berber, Arab, Mediterranean and African influences, offering bold flavours and rich traditions that you’ll notice from your very first meal. Classic dishes like tagine, a slow-cooked stew of tender meat, vegetables and aromatic spices, and couscous, often served with savoury broth and seasonal vegetables, are staples you’ll find across the country. Aside from hearty mains, the food scene includes flavoursome soups like harira, grilled kebabs, fresh seafood on the Atlantic coast and a variety of pastries and sweet treats to finish. No Moroccan meal is complete without a pot of sweet mint tea, a symbol of local hospitality.

How Difficult Is It?
How Difficult Is White Water Rafting in Morocco?
We rate this adventure as Challenge Rating 2, making it an ideal introduction to white water rafting for adventurous beginners. You’ll be rafting Class III–IV rapids on the Ahansal River, which deliver plenty of excitement without requiring prior rafting experience.
Each day begins with a full safety briefing and guidance from experienced, qualified rafting guides who are on hand throughout the trip. You’ll be taught paddling techniques, how to read the river, and exactly what to do in the unlikely event of a swim.
A reasonable level of fitness and confidence in water is recommended, but you don’t need to be an athlete. The trip balances adrenaline-filled rapids with calmer stretches of river, giving you time to recover, enjoy the scenery, and build confidence as the days progress.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a visa to enter Morocco?
Because entry requirements can and do change, and because we have clients of many nationalities, we always recommend checking this with your own government’s website. Be sure to allow enough time to apply for any visas or permits required; don’t leave your checks until the day before!
What vaccinations do I need?
These change, so it is important that you check with either a travel health clinic or your doctor’s surgery. You should allow plenty of time for this process, as some vaccines need multiple doses. The TravelHealthPro website is another useful source of information – https://travelhealthpro.org.uk/countries
How can I avoid roaming charges but still use my phone?
Your mobile provider might have reasonably-priced roaming add-ons, so it is worth exploring these. Or you could buy an eSim; these are often much cheaper than add-ons and are easy to activate and use. See our article for more information – https://thebucketlistcompany.co.uk/unlock-seamless-connectivity-with-esims-the-ultimate-travel-companion/
How do the monthly payments work?
If you choose to pay for your trip monthly your payment plan will start the month after your booking is made, and will end a minimum of 28 days prior to departure. After deposit, the outstanding balance will be divided by the number of months available and we’ll charge this amount each month to the card of your choice. If you have a preferred date of the month for payments to be taken just let us know. If at a later date you wish to add an extra experience to your trip we can modifiy your payment plan to accommodate this.
Can I use my drone to capture images on the trip?
No – drone use is forbidden in Morocco.
If you bring one with you it will be confiscated by customs, you will have to pay airport storage fees, and in some instances you may be fined.
Where can I get Moroccan dirhams?
As this is a closed currency you cannot obtain it outside of Morocco. It is easy to obtain dirhams on arrival in Marrakech; there are currency exchanges and plenty of ATMs.
How should I dress?
Whilst there is no dress code Morocco is a conservative country. Although tourists aren’t expected to fully cover themselves in public areas, it is always advisable to cover your knees and shoulders. Strappy tops and short shorts are a no-no. Loose, breathable clothing will help you in the heat.
Can you cater for different diets?
When you book you will receive a link to your portal, where you can fill in your passenger information, including dietary and medical requirements. These will be shared with our guides and providers (including airlines if you have also booked flights). Please provide this information as quickly as possible, so we can make any necessary arrangements for you.
Whilst we do our utmost to ensure your needs are met, in some locations options for very specific diets may be extremely limited; we therefore suggest bringing some suitable snacks.
If you have a severe food allergy please ensure you carry your medication at all times, and that we are made aware. We will pass this information on, but a conversation with your in-country guide on arrival will help them give you the best possible guidance regarding suitability or otherwise of foods.
If you have specific concerns we always suggest contacting us to discuss before booking.
Do I have to take all of my luggage on the trek?
No – you can leave any unnecessary items at the accommodation in Marrakech where they will be stored safely until you return. It is worth bringing an extra bag you can decant such items into.
What is a reef-safe sunscreen?
There isn’t an agreed definition of ‘reef-safe’, but it generally means the product doesn’t contain Oxybenzone or Octinoxate.
Look instead for mineral-based sunscreens, with either non-nano Titanium Dioxide or non-nano Zinc Oxide.
