There’s more to Morocco than Marrakech you know.

Sure, on this 13-day ultimate adventure, you’ll get your chance to barter with the souks in the maze of markets and immerse yourself in the rich history there. But you’re going to do a hell of a lot more than that too.

You’ll see the blue-washed walls of Chefchaoun, head to Midelt and Merzouga, trek in the Todra Gorge and marvel at the majestic Akchour waterfalls.

You’ll visit medieval mosques, ancient Berber cities and, of course, the great Sahara. And you’ll taste delicious tagines, drink refreshing mint teas and sample some of the best street food in the world.

The ultimate Morocco adventure is truly a journey for all the senses (and you’ll probably be pleased to hear that some of it takes place from the saddle of a camel).

Ready for some glorious sights, unforgettable experiences and hilarious encounters?

Everything awaits you in Morocco.

Best of Morocco Itinerary

You will meet your Bucket List Leaders at the airport and fly out as a group for Bucket Lister + Trips. If you have booked a Bucket Lister Trip we will see you in Morocco soon!

If you have transfers with us we will take you to the hotel. For those making their own way, we will see you in Casablanca.

Today we spend our day in a place that many would believe was from a fantasy film. Chefchaouen, also known as ‘The Blue City’, was built by refugees from Andalusia in the 1400s.

We will spend the day exploring all of the most enchanting spots in the city, wandering along the blue streets and visiting various local shops and Moroccan eateries – with a distinct Spanish influence.

We have a whole day to soak up the beauty of Chefchaouen. Lose yourself in the colourful streets with all of their unexpected alleyways and arches.

Alternatively, relax in a hammam for the morning. In the afternoon, why not take a taxi to the spectacular Akchour waterfalls for a scenic hike?

However, if you choose to spend your day in Chefchaouen, top it off with a delicious meal in one of the city’s many restaurants.

It’s time for a change of pace, so we’re off to Fes! On the way, we’ll stop off at the old Roman city of Volubilis. Here we’ll explore the historic ruins that are built into the hills, with their intricate mosaics.

Later, we arrive in the walled city of Fes, formerly home to philosophers and silk road traders. Today, you can wander the labyrinthine streets, visit a traditional tannery, or soak in a hammam ahead of our group dinner of local pastille.

Today we enjoy a full day tour of Fes. Once upon a time, astronomers and traders alike would flock to Fes’s cultural scene. We will explore this heritage through the city’s many mosques, medersas and markets.

Try to haggle for some local wares in the market stalls, or watch the local makers going about their ancient crafts. Take in the amazing architecture and enjoy the electric atmosphere of the city.

Now it’s time to head for the mountains – the High Atlas Mountains, to be precise.

We will take a scenic drive through the mountains towards the Sahara Desert, stopping off for the night in the quaint Berber town of Midelt. Upon arrival, you can spend the evening wandering the local Berber carpet shops, drinking Moroccan mint tea, and enjoying local food.

In the morning we resume our drive into the Sahara. Eventually, the mountains turn into dunes as we reach the desert.

We reach the village of Merzouga, where we will saddle up for a breathtaking camel ride beneath the stars. Of course, if you prefer, you can walk alongside your camel.

Take in the incredible panoramas of the night sky under a blanket with a beer as your very own chef cooks up a tasty Moroccan feast and local music echoes through the wilderness.

We wake up to breakfast in the desert and then head back north towards the Todra Gorge. This famous canyon is 300 metres deep – and is very striking!

Along the drive, you can see mud-hut villages amongst the Atlas Mountains. When we arrive, we will take a short orientation hike to help you get used to the spectacular landscapes, before an evening of relaxation.

Today it’s time to get active, with a 10km trek through the Todra Gorge. This is a truly stunning hike, passing through the towering red canyons beside babbling streams.

We will pause for lunch with a Berber family, and continue through the epic carved canyons until we eventually return to the hotel, just in time for a dip in the pool at sunset!

The Todra Gorge is famous for more than the canyon itself – it’s also known for being the home of the ‘Road of 1000 Kasbahs’. Film buffs will recognise the scenes at Aït Benhaddou, a town which has been featured in everything from Gladiator to Game of Thrones.

We will wander the picturesque streets and take in the sweeping views before returning to the hotel for another amazing sunset in paradise.

On day 11 of your Morocco adventure, we will finally head to the iconic city of Marrakech.

You’ll have the afternoon and evening free to explore this incredible city.

Discover the secrets of Moroccan cuisine with a half-day cooking class. On this tour, you will head to the market to select fresh produce and learn more about traditional herbs and spices, then get hands-on in the kitchen as you create an appetiser, main course, and dessert. Pick up plenty of expert tips throughout the cooking class, then sit down to enjoy your delicious 3-course lunch.

Today marks the end of our Moroccan adventure. We will head back to the airport after breakfast for our flights back to the UK.
