The trek
Most companies offer the Mount Toubkal trek in two or three days, simply driving into Imlil, a popular Berber village, and trekking from there. However, to help with acclimitisation and increase summit chances, we offer this trek over four days. This makes the trek much less strenuous, and much more enjoyable!
Our Mt. Toubkal trek passes through phenomenal scenery on well-defined paths through the Morocco mountains, from Imi Oughlad, at 1350m, eventually reaching Refuge Toubkal at 3206m, before making our summit attempt. As the altitude increases, the paths do become steeper, but the climb awards dramatic views towards Marrakech and the spectacular Anti-Atlas mountains.
Whilst trekking in the Atlas Mountains, Morocco, we discover an insight into the life and culture of the locals, who are unbelievably friendly people. We pass through remote Berber villages and terraced fields, stopping to explore the independent carpet shops, where you can peruse Berber rugs that women hand-craft over months at a time. We will trek by cascading waterfalls, along deep gorges and, at the higher reaches, patches of snow, which feel in great contrast to the heat of Marrakech.
Trekking in the Atlas Mountains Morocco is full of these surprises, whether it’s an orange juice stall emerging from among the rocks on the way up to the refuge, or political graffiti on a rock on the climb to the summit. The best surprise of all, though, are the expansive views from when you reach the summit. Trekking the highest mountain in Morocco is a truly unforgettable experience.

What our Customers Say
Here’s what some of our awesome customers had to say:
“Ok, so if you aren’t Wonder Woman or the female version of Edmund Hillary (although we did have our very own Ironwoman – unfortunately not me!) but you fancy a bit of a challenge/adventure, then this is ideal!
This trip will challenge you mentally and physically, but because you make new amazing friends and have such a laugh – along with seeing the vibrancy of Morocco – you soon forget about how much you are struggling. The elation of achievement when you reach the top is phenomenal, and worth every foot step!
Other companies may offer the same trip, but I doubt they give the same level of expertise from the moment you pay your deposit! Everything has been thought of, from the advice about equipment to buy/rent, to the tips for working with our amazing guides and porters.
And then there’s our Bucket list Company rep, Gareth! Gareth, aka Billy Boy Wonder, was the best expedition leader you can ask for. He was always positive, encouraging, smiling and calm, even when there was a drama or something didn’t go according to plan. Oh, and ask him about his belly dancing skills!
I would highly recommend this company, and will be booking another trip! If you have any doubts, don’t! Just book it! You won’t regret it, and will finish the week with a permanent smile, some lovely new friends and priceless memories! Thank you to everyone on our trip. And at last I can say: “Got the t-shirt and wearing it!”

“Went to Morocco with The Bucket List Company. Not only was it an amazing trip it was lead by an amazing company. Everything was sorted for us from the flights to accommodation. Having a UK leader with us the whole time made the trip effortless.
Having someone with experience of the country and the trip certainly made it effortless. I would not hesitate recommending or using this company again myself.”

“This bucket list ticks all boxes!
What can I say? I just back from the Mount Toubkal trip and it has been the experience of a lifetime.
Since I booked this trip, The Bucket List Company have kept in contact with me, asking if needed any help with anything and keeping me updated as well.
On the trip they really do look after you and you get great value for money. They make sure they hire the best local guides to help look after you and those that have the best local knowledge. What I liked about the company is that they help you on the trek and make sure that, if you are struggling a wee bit, they have guides there to encourage you on or go at your pace without rushing you.
If you are looking to tick stuff of your bucket list, they are the ones to make that dream happen. I have already booked Nepal for 2020 and will be looking for a trip in 2021.

“Just returned from Morroco, where we hit the dizzy heights of Mt. Toubkal. This being my first solo trip, I was pretty nervous, but it was an amazing experience from start to finish with a great group of people. Everything was organised so well – it felt like we moved seamlessly from one environment to the next. I can’t recommend these guys enough, and I know I will certainly be taking more trips with them in the future.”
