Adventure holidays in Spain: GREAT food

Spain’s food scene is an adventure all on its own… You know about tapas, sure, but have you really tasted it, freshly made in an atmospheric Spanish bar, with the buzz of animated locals in your ear and aromas from smoky chorizo and tortilla española filling you up?

Packed with vibrant flavours and fresh, local ingredients, every meal is a treat. A cold, crisp beer or a cheeky sangria doesn’t hurt either.

On the Costa Blanca in particular, the Mediterranean influence shines with seafood dishes like paella, freshly grilled fish, and gambas al ajillo (garlic prawns), all bursting with tang. Tapas culture makes dining way more fun than what we’re used to over here too, plus you can sample a little bit of everything without overspending.

And don’t miss the local olives, cheese, and sweet treats like turrón, a traditional almond nougat. Whether you’re refuelling after an adrenaline-packed day or unwinding in the evening, the food in Spain will definitely be a highlight of your trip. Unless you don’t like food. Ahem.

Why choose Spain for an adventure holiday? Weather you can rely on!

Spain’s weather is pretty damn reliable for an itinerary of sunny adventures, particularly as the summer comes into its own.

The Costa Blanca in June in particular is a DREAM destination for adventure enthusiasts: reliably warm, sunny Mediterranean climate, and a whopping great ocean to dip into when you’re feeling the heat.

With average temperatures ranging from 20°C to 30°C and little chance of rain, it’s the perfect backdrop for outdoor activities like canyoning, downhill biking, and climbing.

June also avoids the peak summer heat that you can expect later on, so you can enjoy full days of action without completely melting under the sun.

Our Spanish adventure trips are tailored to make the most of this ideal weather, ensuring you have the perfect conditions for exploring dramatic gorges, zipping down scenic trails, and tackling rugged rock faces.

Just be sure to pack a refillable water bottle – you’ll need it to stay hydrated as you soak up the sunshine and the thrills! Click here to find out more

Spain suffers no shortage of fantastic spots for an adventure holiday but if you’re after a range of environments and a plethora of activities, then the Costa Blanca is the place for you.

Perhaps you noticed us mentioning is already, well there’s a reason for that!

Making up a 200 km stretch of coastline in the Alicante province, Costa Blanca is the ideal backdrop for any thrill-seeker. Chock-full of mountains, canyons, beaches and villages, it’s one of the most diverse natural landscapes in the world and perfect for adventure travel.

The coastline is home to towering limestone cliffs, dramatic gorges, and rolling mountains, making it a natural playground for canyoning, climbing, and downhill biking. The deep ravines and crystal-clear streams make for thrilling canyoning routes, with jumps, slides, and swims that take you through breathtaking scenery.

Climbers come for the world-class rock faces, offering everything from beginner-friendly crags to challenging multi-pitch routes – all complete with jaw-dropping views of the Mediterranean.

And for bikers, the rugged trails and steep descents provide an exhilarating mix of speed and scenery. The varied terrain ensures there’s something for every skill level, and the consistent June weather means you’ll enjoy all these activities in their best possible conditions.
