How Much Does It Cost To Visit Thailand?
If you’ve landed here because you’re wondering how much it costs to visit Thailand, you’re in the right place. A Thai adventure is a dream experience for any avid travel junkie, which is what we’re all about at the Bucket List Company…
But making those dreams a reality is another thing entirely.
Thailand offers a perfect blend of stunning beaches, vibrant cities, rich culture, and delicious cuisine, amongst many other things. But how much is it going to set you back?
Let’s take a look at some realistic Thailand costs so you can start sorting out your budget…
How Much Does Accommodation Cost in Thailand?
Accommodation costs can vary widely depending on your preferences – budget hostels can cost as little as £10 per night, while luxury hotels will set you back upwards of £100 per night.
Most hotels will sit somewhere in the middle, though, with the average cost for a mid-range hotel for the night sitting at around £40-50.
The good news is that our Best of Thailand trip includes comfortable accommodation (trust us, we’ve tested it plenty of times!) throughout your stay, all of which have been carefully selected to make sure you get a great night’s sleep ready for the next day of your adventure.
This includes stays in Bangkok’s vibrant heart, mountain lodges in Chiang Mai, beachfront resorts in Koh Samui, and even floating bungalows in Khao Sok National Park.
How Much Is Food in Thailand?
One of the joys of visiting Thailand is the delicious and affordable cuisine, from Pad Thai in Bangkok to fresh seafood in Koh Samui, there’s a whole range of local delicacies you’ll probably want to sample.
Street food in Thailand is relatively cheap, with most things costing under £3, while local restaurants will set you back about £5-8 for a main, and western-style restaurants costing between £10-20 for a main meal.
While some meals are included in our package, you’ll want to budget for others to fully experience the local culinary delights – we’d highly recommend giving Massaman Curry, Tom Yum Goon and Khao Soi a go!
Are Leisure Activities in Thailand Expensive?
Thailand is a country with more than its fair share of adventure, from elephant sanctuaries to cooking classes, temple tours and jungle treks, there really is a little bit of everything.
As a guide, you can expect to pay roughly:
- Elephant sanctuary visit: £50-£100
- Thai cooking class: £20-£40
- Island hopping tour: £30-£60
- Temple tours: £10-£30
Many activities are included in our base package on our Best of Thailand trip, such as trekking through the jungle, bamboo rafting, tours of Bangkok City and plenty more, but it’s worth budgeting for optional extras as well.
