How Much Does An Adventure Holiday In Spain Cost?

If you’re looking to escape the bustle of everyday life and do something to make you really feel alive, it doesn’t get much better than Spain.

A short plane ride away, Spain gives you an opportunity to have a serious adventure and get a LOT of bang for your buck – much how much DOES an adventure holiday in Spain cost?

With rich history and a wonderful natural environment (not to mention the food), it really is a great place for anyone after an adventure.

I’m talking rock climbing, canyoning, downhill bike riding… Fasten your helmet because this really is the trip of a lifetime.

But one thing you may be wondering: how much does it cost to experience these thrills? That’s what I’ll be breaking down for you, while letting you know how you can enjoy all the adventures Spain has to offer while not having to spend too much.

So, let’s begin…

Where should you go in Spain for an adventure holiday?

Before discussing the cost of your adventure holiday in Spain, you need to work out where to go.

Spain is full of history, culture and stunning architecture, but for an adventure holiday, you’ll want somewhere with a beautiful natural environment providing countless activities for you.

That’s why I’d recommend Costa Blanca – 200 km of coastline in the Alicante province, it’s home to mountains, canyons, beaches and villages. This provides the perfect setting for all your thrill-seeking desires.

It’s hot, there are tons of things to do, and it’s a bit cheaper than other areas of Spain. And the best thing is, Costa Blanca’s where our Bucket List Company trip goes.

How much does accommodation cost in Costa Blanca?

The price of accommodation in Costa Blanca of course varies depending on how luxurious you want your night sleep to be.

Standard, run-of-the-mill hotels will cost £40-£50 a night while a nicer hotel can cost £70, £80, £90 or even over £100.

Hostels are cheaper – most will be under £20 a night and are a great place to stay if you’re on a tight budget (as long as you don’t mind other people snoring!).

If you’re looking to level up, a nice villa will generally set you back £150 a night and can be up to £200 for some places. That can be a little pricey but it comes with the obvious benefit of having your own space.

But what about staying in a villa while not having to pay over the odds to do so?

That’s one of the many benefits of choosing to enjoy your Spanish adventure with TBLC. Our trip comes with a private villa that you’ll only be sharing with the other people on your trip (who you’ll get to know pretty well, so it’s not like they’re complete strangers living with you).

How much does food cost in Costa Blanca?

Like accommodation, food in Costa Blanca can cost as little or as much as you want (but in a place like Spain, there are some things you HAVE to try).

Paella, patatas bravas, gazpacho, tortilla Española, churros… Spain is one of the food hubs of Europe and there are loads of ways to satisfy your belly without having to break the bank.

You can get a meal at a casual restaurant for under £10, or between £25 and £40 if you’re looking for somewhere a bit fancier. There’s also the street food scene, where you can get all sorts of delicious bites to eat for just a few pounds.

As affordable as the food in Costa Blanca is, buying 3 meals a day (plus any snacks that tempt you) can still get quite expensive. And as delicious as Spanish cuisine is, it can be a chore finding new places to eat at all the time.

Good news – our Spanish Adventure trip offers the best of both worlds.

Our 6-day excursion provides you with 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches to ensure you’ve got enough energy for the day’s activities (while being authentically Spanish and delicious).

You can have dinner on 2 of the nights with us as well but the other evenings are yours to explore the local cuisine and see what takes your fancy.

Meals are included within the price of the trip, which you can find more info about here.

How much does local transport cost in Costa Blanca?

There’s a bus system that can take you around Costa Blanca and the surrounding area, as well as a tram system in Alicante.

This will only set you back a few pounds at a time but in a foreign country where you may not be fluent in the language, is the hassle really worth it?

Public transport can be confusing at the best of times, especially if you’re experiencing a new system for the first time. I’m sure we can all think of a moment when we’ve not been 100% sure if the bus is going in the right direction.

Our Spanish Adventure trip takes care of all that for you. With private minibuses to and from the activities, wave goodbye to wasting hours stood at the wrong bus stop and being told that they don’t give change.

How much do adventure activities cost in Costa Blanca?

Finally, the question you probably want answered the most: how much does it cost to get your heart racing in Costa Blanca?

Rock climbing (whether it’s the traditional type of a via ferrata) is one of the most popular activities for keen adventurers in Costa Blanca. If you have all of your own equipment you can just head out out and climb. If you don’t know what you are doing then you will need to book an excursion. These will cost between £50-£60 each per day.

Canyoning is another local favourite, and is basically hiking, scrambling, climbing and swimming through stunning canyons for about £50.

And if you want to experience Costa Blanca’s mountain roads on two wheels (downhill, of course), you can hire a bike for £30-£40 (just make sure the brakes work and remember they are on the opposite side that you are used to!).

What I’m trying to say is it’s a bit risky to arrange all these activities yourself. You can end up paying more than you should and you may not pick the best places to experience them.

The good news is, all the activities mentioned in our itinerary come as part of TBLC’s Spanish Adventure trip.

We’ve been running this trip to Costa Blanca for a while now, so we know exactly the things that adventure-seekers like the most (and where’s the best place to do them).

Our experienced, friendly guides are on hand to keep you safe and motivate you in those moments when you might feel like giving up, as are your fellow travellers (one of the many perks of going as part of a small group).

So is an adventure holiday in Spain worth it?

If you’re looking for a series of exhilarating thrills, fascinating culture, delicious food and gorgeous weather… yes, I’d say Costa Blanca is worth it.

Of course, you can arrange everything yourself and try to sniff out bargains where you can. But that always comes with the risk of overpaying, and who wants to be worrying about money when they’re on holiday?

The Spanish Adventure trip with The Bucket List Company is by far the best way to get the most out of your holiday.

From just £650, your 6 days in Costa Blanca are taken care of – accommodation, food (except for a few dinners), transport and activities are all sorted. The only thing you have to do is book the flights and hey presto, that’s it!

It’s an extremely cost-effective way to enjoy this region of Spain, without all the hassle of having to organise things yourself.

We have lots of experience with putting on adventure holidays people love, so there’s no need to worry about placing your trip in someone else’s hands.

And one of the many benefits of travelling with TBLC (and something that most people take advantage of) is that you can pay for your trip in monthly instalments.

By booking well in advance, you can get down to monthly payments of just £37, meaning you don’t have to part ways with a big some of cash at any point.

And by the time the trip rolls around, it’s all already paid for, allowing you to get on with enjoying your time in Costa Blanca.
