Pack for Four Seasons (in a Day)

Ecuador’s mainland weather can go from sunny to chilly in a flash, especially in the Andes. Bring layers. Then swap those out for your beachwear when you hit the islands!

Get That Yellow Fever Jab (and Bring the Card)

You might need it if you’re heading into the Amazon, and some countries require proof if you’re travelling onwards. Check well in advance and pop your certificate in with your passport.

Book Your Galápagos Flights Early

Flights to the islands can fill up fast and fluctuate in price. Luckily, if you travel with us; we sort all that for you (no faffing with multi-leg bookings needed!).

Cash Is King, Especially on the Islands

While Quito has ATMs and card machines aplenty, the Galápagos is a different story. Take lots of USD in small denominations (it’s the official currency and super handy for taxis, snacks and souvenirs).

Don’t touch the animals, keep your distance, and always follow your guide’s lead. The Galápagos is one of the most protected ecosystems on the planet.

Altitude Can Creep Up on You

Quito sits at 2,850m above sea level. Take it easy when you arrive, stay hydrated, and avoid going too hard on the cocktails until you’ve adjusted. (Easier said than done, Iknow…)

Waterproof Everything

Between jungle hikes, island boat rides and sudden downpours, waterproof bags, jackets and even phone pouches will be your best mates.
