Here at The Bucket List Company, we are happiest when our customers are happy. Your holiday should run smoothly, be safe, and above all you should come back keen to book another adventure with us. We aren’t fond of rules (let’s be honest, who is?) but we do think that it’s worth setting expectations in advance so that everyone knows what to expect.
Travelling in a group means that everyone’s needs have to be catered for. Your pack leader will have lots of people to keep happy. Be mindful that everyone will want to do different things and go with the flow.
You can use it how you want. Your leaders will have admin to do during this time so (other than organised trips) be mindful that they won’t be available during the free time to entertain you. They will be happy to suggest some activities for you to do though, so be sure to ask them for their recommendations, and check on the app for some of their favourite restaurants, bars etc.
Sometimes (especially in some of the countries we visit) things go wrong. Flights can be delayed, the weather can affect outside activities, baggage can be lost, and itineraries can need to be changed. Learn to embrace the things that go wrong. It always works out in the end. Trust your leader. They have done this many many many times before!
Our trips are often booked by people travelling alone who choose to share a room to keep costs lower. If you want your own room, you can request a single room on any of our tours which will attract a single supplement. If you don’t choose this option, you will be paired with someone of the same gender. We do our best to match people with someone a similar age. If you want your own room, be sure to let us know when booking.
Sometimes on a group trip you might fancy your own time out to do your own thing. Just let your group leader know if you won’t be joining in one of the activities or if you will be doing your own thing one day.
Our adventures aren’t best served on a hang-over! Be mindful that we may have early starts or physically tiring activities. If you can do that while you stay up drinking until 3am, then go nuts. Just be respectful to your roommate who might not be as keen as you to stay out all
night. If you know you are a snorer, consider booking a single room or bring some earplugs as a gift for your roomie!
No one likes the person that is always late. Don’t let that person be you. If your leader tells you to meet at 7.30am, don’t be the person that shows up at 7.35am. Its disrespectful to everyone in the group.
Be brave! You may have a chance to eat food that you have never tried before. Go for it! You might have an opportunity to take on a physical challenge (hiking, kayaking, rafting etc) that you’ve never done before. Just try it! At ‘The Bucket List Company’, we will try to take you off the beaten track and visit places that aren’t the obvious stereotypical tourist attractions. You will have an expert local guide as well as your UK guides. Trust them – they will provide you with an awesome trip.
Here’s what some of our awesome customers had to say:
“I recent went on the Sahara Trek and it was one of the best times of my life. That sounds so cliche but it’s the easiest way for me to describe it.
The Bucket List Company made the whole experience stress free. I highly recommend what these guys are doing!”
“Everest base camp 03/19. Easy booking system, monthly payment option- perfect. Always pleasant, knowledgeable, happy to help/ chat if any queries on phone, email, social media. Straight forward contact with lead guys Keith & Jake from airport and throughout trip. Made it so easy to simply turn up to all overnight stays, tours etc. Appear to have established good contacts/ company in Nepal. Everything ran smoothly throughout, no issue, would book with the bucket list company again.”
“When you book a Bucket List experience you want the company you book with to understand that for you this is once in a lifetime event and make it that little bit different. Having travelled with three other ‘group travel’ companies I can say that TBLC understand more than most that the little things matter. The pre travel part is stand out; from a welcome gift on booking, monthly installment options or the excellent training weekends you get an early impression you will be looked after and when on trip you certainly are. I recently returned from EBC and the organisation an execution of the trip was excellent, once travelling you don’t have to think about a thing
And the care and attention from both UK and local guides cannot be faulted. A couple of days I found the going very hard but I always had someone by my side for reassurance and encouragement which I have to say probably got me to Base Camp. I would have no hesitation
in recommending TBLC to others, they’re a first class company who helped me tick a biggie off that bucket list!”
“Great staff, very helpful throughout the whole process, they have a very good payment method which makes any trip affordable! Even to a student like myself!
The trip was very well organised, and any question was answered with confidence there and then, showing great knowledge of the country and trek we were doing.
The staff were also very motivating, I don’t think I would’ve made it to Base Camp if it weren’t for Keith helping me… All the guides were amazing, working throughout the day, and then in their breaks making sure we were all comfortable with food and drink (included in the price).
I do not have a bad word to say about the trip, and I will be booking another one with the Bucket List team in the close future!
P.S. ‘Rate Keith’s Jake’ 9.56/10. With .44 taken away for lack of beard.”
I have just returned from the most epic trip to Kilimanjaro
We enjoyed the hustle of the local markets, the
I booked this trip on a little bit of a whim back in November last year. Although I am fairly well travelled have never done a trip with a company in quite this way before, generally I book and arrange everything independently. The Bucket List Company made everything super easy and took any stress out of planning for the trip (except maybe the training – but they even run training weekends for those who may be interested).
The whole experience ran smoothly from start to finish. Yes summit night was as hard as, if not even harder, than I had ever imagined but we had a 100% success rate to the top (which was far higher than some other similarly large travel groups going up at the same time as us). This was purely down to the quality and dedication of the team of guides and porters that Keith uses on every expedition. Our head guide Whitey was one of the friendliest and happiest individuals I have ever met, he had all of our names memorised on the first meeting and kept everyone motivated, smiling and feeling very safe throughout the expedition.
Either side of the expedition we were taken to see some of the local area, a market pre hike and a local school thereafter. This was not a tourist trap, The Bucket List Company has genuine links to the local area and is making a very real difference to the school. This part for me was one of the unexpected highlights and being able to spend a while playing with the children one of the more emotional parts of the trip. Such little extras are for me what makes a company like this and the whole experience even more special. I would 100% recommend The Bucket List Company. I have made some fantastic new friends, some wonderful memories and am already looking at making my next booking! Thank you Keith and Co.
