Setting the expectations!

Here at The Bucket List Company, we are happiest when our customers are happy.

Here at The Bucket List Company, we are happiest when our customers are happy. Your holiday should run smoothly, be safe, and above all you should come back keen to book another adventure with us. We aren’t fond of rules (let’s be honest, who is?) but we do think that it’s worth setting expectations in advance so that everyone knows what to expect.

Be a Team Player

Travelling in a group means that everyone’s needs have to be catered for. Your pack leader will have lots of people to keep happy. Be mindful that everyone will want to do different things and go with the flow.

Free Time is Free Time

You can use it how you want. Your leaders will have admin to do during this time so (other than organised trips) be mindful that they won’t be available during the free time to entertain you. They will be happy to suggest some activities for you to do though, so be sure to ask them for their recommendations, and check on the Vamoos app for some of their favourite restaurants, bars etc.

Embrace the Quirks

Sometimes (especially in some of the countries we visit) things go wrong. Flights can be delayed, the weather can affect outside activities, baggage can be lost, and itineraries can need to be changed. Learn to embrace the things that go wrong. It always works out in the end. Trust your leader. They have done this many many many times before!

Like your Own Space?

Our trips are often booked by people travelling alone who choose to share a room to keep costs lower. If you would like your own room, you can request a single room on any of our tours by selecting the single supplement option. If you don’t choose this option, you will be paired with someone of the same gender. We do our best to match people with someone a similar age.
Sometimes on a group trip you might fancy your own time out to do your own thing. Just let your group leader know if you won’t be joining in one of the activities or if you will be doing your own thing one day.

Be Respectful of your Roommate

Our adventures aren’t best served on a hang-over! Be mindful that we may have early starts or physically tiring activities. If you can do that while you stay up drinking until 3am, then go nuts.
Just be respectful to your roommate who might not be as keen as you to stay out all night.
If you know you are a snorer, consider booking a single room or bring some earplugs as a gift for your roomie!

Bring your Watch!

No one likes the person that is always late. Don’t let that person be you. If your leader tells you to meet at 7.30am, don’t be the person that shows up at 7.35am. Its disrespectful to everyone in the group.

Immerse yourself in your New World

Be brave! You may have a chance to eat food that you have never tried before. Go for it! You might have an opportunity to take on a physical challenge (hiking, kayaking, rafting etc) that you’ve never done before. Just try it! At ‘The Bucket List Company’, we will try to take you off the beaten track and visit places that aren’t the obvious stereotypical tourist attractions. You will have an expert local guide as well as your UK guides. Trust them – they will provide you with an awesome trip.
