Nepal is a country that leaves a profound impact on everyone who ventures within its mountain-ensconced realms. From the ancient religious sites of Kathmandu, Muktinath and Pokhara to the breathtaking natural architecture of the Himalayas – and, of course, the highest mountain in the world – it’s not hard to see why.

This is a land of striking contrasts. The cacophony of downtown Kathmandu sits in perfect parallel to the utter serenity of the spectacular Himalayan peaks, where you can hike for hours with nothing but the gently fluttering prayer flags adorning the trails.

There are countless incredible treks in Nepal just waiting to be explored. Perhaps the famous Mount Everest Base Camp trek has always held pride of place on your travel bucket list, or you fancy ticking off the “best long-distance trek in the world”: the Annapurna Circuit – here is where you will find your calling. Or, you could even climb Himalayan summit, be it Island Peak or the formidable Ama Dablam.

Whether you’re looking for adrenaline-inducing trekking adventures or an introspective hike in unrivalled scenery, Nepal is a mountain lover’s heaven.

However, it’s not all about the towering summits and rugged ridge-lines. Nepal is also a country with a fascinating and unique history, which trekkers can experience throughout their trip.

From the moment you arrive in the bustling backstreets of Thamel, Kathmandu, it will become apparent that you are in the midst of an incredibly diverse and vibrant culture. Street vendors scour the crowds for a sale whilst sitting beneath ancient stupas strewn with Buddhist prayer flags. Businesspeople stop for a spot of dal bhat, whilst monkeys watch on from the electrical lines above, awaiting the opportunity for leftovers.

Yet, just beyond the cityscape, one can always observe a majestic backdrop of the highest mountain range in the world. Just miles beyond the city and into the foothills, hikers will find old Bhotian buildings, virtually untouched for centuries, and ancient temples with their prayer wheels leading the way up the mountains.

In Nepal, everything leads you to the mountains – the high stupas, even the prayer flags that bless every path. All you have to do is follow, and prepare to be amazed.

With the Bucketlist Co. you come to realise that the careful planning and thought that goes into their trips ensures you get the experience you want. The whole trip ran without hiccups and everyone from guides to fellow travellers helped make this the trip it was.

Would not hesitate to recommend this company or book another trip with them in the future.”

“Great staff, very helpful throughout the whole process, they have a very good payment method which makes any trip affordable! Even to a student like myself!

The trip was very well organised, and any question was answered with confidence there and then, showing great knowledge of the country and trek we were doing.

The staff were also very motivating, I don’t think I would’ve made it to Base Camp if it weren’t for Keith helping me… All the guides were amazing, working throughout the day, and then in their breaks making sure we were all comfortable with food and drink (included in the price).

I do not have a bad word to say about the trip, and I will be booking another one with the Bucket List team in the close future!

P.S. ‘Rate Keith’s Jake’ 9.56/10. With .44 taken away for lack of beard.”
